Hmong Youth Retreat

Upcoming Teen Opportunities

Mark your calendars for these great teen events!
1) The 2016 Wisconsin Catholic Youth Rally ison Saturday, March 5th. This day of fun and faith includes Mass, Adoration, Confession, nationally known speakers, praise & worship, activities and lunch. High school teens are encouraged to attend this powerful event. We will be taking a bus with the North-side Catholic parishes. Cost is $35, but financial assistance is available. Please fill out the permission form to hold your spot today.

2) Christ Child Academy’s Winter Extravaganza is looking for teen volunteers on Saturday, February 27th from 4pm to midnight. Teens will receive service hours, supper and a T-shirt. 3) The Sheboygan County High School Youth Group is having a game night on Wednesday, February 24th at The Lodge by Blessed Trinity Parish (327 Giddings Ave, Sheboygan Falls). Open to all high school teens. Free pizza and drinks. See flyer for details.

High School Discipleship Calendar
Dear Catholic Families,
Thank you for registering your high school teen for a discipleship group.
I am excited to see how much your teen will grow in their faith this year! I want to work with you to ensure that your teen builds quality friendships with their group members, has a leader that they can look up to as a man or woman of God, and finds a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
This year our discipleship lessons are accessible online and come with resources for parents. I highly encourage you to check out the program and to follow along with your teen so that you can talk with them about what they learned. The link can be found at: http://ydisciple.org. On the right hand side at the top of the page click Login. The User name is: Demo and the Password is: YDisciple. Later on in the year we will be getting a new username and password once the program is updated. I will let you know when that happens.
Attached is the schedule for this year. Students will meet in their discipleship groups 2-3 times a month. They may meet at the Faith Formation Center (834 New Jersey Avenue) or they may meet off site. Your teen’s leader will let you know if they will meet at another location. Please know that the group depends on your teen’s attendance and participation, so please let the leader or I know if your teen will not be present.
This year we will have a required 9th grade day retreat on Saturday, November 7th and again on Sunday, November 8th at St. Peter Claver Parish. Permission slips and further information will be sent out later in the year. There will be an alternative retreat date for those who cannot make it to one of these days. This retreat is designed to help your teen learn how to pray in multiple ways so that they can grow in their relationship with Christ.
Again, thank you for working with me. I encourage you to tell me if your teen has any struggles with their group throughout the year. I want every teen and every family to grow closer to Christ this year. My door (and email box) is always open.

2015-2016 Registration Information for Religious Education, grades 1-8

Dear Tri-Parish families,
With this letter, you will find the registration materials for the Religious Education Program for the 2015-2016 year. Although the registration form is applicable for all programs, grades 1-12, this letter provides some explanations and information for the children in grades 1-8. If your family has been regularly participating in Religious Education, we welcome you back for the 2015-16 school year! If you’ve been away for awhile, we encourage you to consider making a return, working together with us to pass on the great gift of Faith to your children.
Here are some things to note about the upcoming year:
- Early registrations ($65) tuition are due by May 30. After May 30, tuition is $80.
- There is no charge after the second child, so the total max cost is $130 (by May 30) or $160(after May 30).
- We will continue to offer the Wednesday evening OR Sunday evening options for students in grades 6-8, but have moved the class time up by 30 minutes. In 2015-2016, the class time will be from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
- The elementary, middle school, and high school programs will have coordinated calendars. That means that throughout the year, students across all grade levels will have sessions, or have “off” on the same weeks. We hope this is a convenient adjustment for families!
For children entering grades 1-6, you will also find a flyer with information about our summer Vacation Bible School, scheduled for August 10-14 at the Faith Formation Center. For children in middle school and older, we’ve attached information about this summer’s Service Week, a great opportunity for kids to help those right here in our community!
Lastly, as I shared with you last week, I will be moving on from my role as Director of Faith Formation. I am formulating a calendar for next year’s program, but the new director will share the calendar and other program details with you in the fall. Please pray for our Tri-Parish leaders as they interview candidates for this position. I also ask your continued prayers as I enter the counseling field. Know that you will remain in my prayers as well. I have been very blessed to work in this community.
I will be working through the end of May, and assisting until the new director is found, so please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have!
